It’s not a surprise that you’d run into Sabina everywhere, from Starbucks to the dance floor at some upscale clubs around town, but you should be surprised if Sabina is actually in bed, and yes, that’s exactly where I am and intend to be for the next few days!

Always sticking to the, ‘I never get sick,’ statement and actually believing in them, I hardly get sick. I manage to work, party, chill out with my friends, and on top of that doing at least a couple hours of Yoga, and get my nails done! Yesterday, knowing that I was coughing and the symptoms of me-getting-sick are here, I decided to get out of my bed, wore the brightest color in my closet, there in Yellow with my curly locks hair, at Starbucks with my girlfriend, I didn’t look sick!

In fact, I look even more spectacular than the people who are fine, yet I feel sick, I suppose wearing the brightest colors, going on with your daily routine when you’re sick is not going to get you better but worse. I ended up getting an injection last night and from spending a Sunday doing Yoga and massage, I am spending a Sunday at home in my PJ, eating crappy soup, and hearing my mom telling me, “Don’t use the laptop, Sabina, don’t use it, you’re sick!”

I have officially decided that Thursday nights are definitely the new Friday nights in Bangkok, especially in Sukhumvit Soi 11. After David Dunne’s appearance last week at Q Bar, this week, we have a “Twist It Up,” and “Twisted Ice,” launch party at Twisted Republic, a so-called interactive bar opened last November, that is now well, fully activated!

The night begins as early as 8.30 and trust me, it was pretty full from the front to the side, to the inside, crowds range from the hi-so celebrities, well known rappers, and countless VIP guests, and media. Of course, we went inside, loving the idea of one and a half hour free bar, by 9.30, we were pretty much tipsy and that’s when the show begins. Read more…

I love communication, all means of communication, whether it’s writing, blogging, TALKING, walking, smiling, dressing up, MSNing, phoning, hell I love the fact that people actually invented cell phones!

Text messages may be my ‘thing’ and what you’d probably see me doing when I’m free or bored at work, but when I’m sitting at home on a Saturday night listening to Alex Gaudino, trying to get some writing going, and as soon as I start, my phone is nudging me. I would love it if that person were my friends, but oh no, it’s one of those I-have-no-life and I-prank-SMS-you, on a Saturday night. Read more…

Thursday night in Bangkok was never this lively, thanks to David Dunne who brought Hed Kandi back to Bangkok with lots of love and groovy tunes. I’m talking about the Hed Kandi signature chicks on the poster all decorated in front of Q Bar, Sukhumvit 11, luring you in.

After dosing myself with David Dunne radio sessions for 12 hours straight at work, I was so on and ready by 10 p.m. right in Q bar getting my favorite Amereto Sour, chilling with my friends outside, it was pretty quiet when I got there, “Great, room to breathe,” I thought, but as I finish my second drinks, people kept pouring in, not as much crowded as Andy Norman’s appearance under the roof of Q in March, but it was definitely happening!

We all tipsy and ready by Midnight, following the sound of David Dunne shouting from the ground floor, “Q Bar, come on down now, are you ready?” And hell yeah, we were! Dancing from the first track, some of us showing our so-retro moves still in our work clothes, but we couldn’t careless. I remember wanting to go to the bathroom really bad but thinking to myself, I might miss a really good track while I’m in there, and guess what! I did.

As silly as it sounds, I actually did stormed out of the bathroom grabbing my very sober girlfriend of mine saying, “I love this song,” and started singing, “So baby if you want me, you’ve got show me love. Words aren’t so easyy to sayy, you’ve got to show me lovvve,” as we were dancing out of the bathroom and we found ourselves in the middle of the dancefloor, throwing our hands up with random yet oh-so-friendly strnagers, together we were shouting to the Robin S’ track, I must say, that song and the song after that, and the song after that, and the song after that made my night, the night of the Thursday nights, well at least so far!

I probably spend half of my night life ‘life’ at Escudo, Thonglor, going there in my pajamas has happened, that’s how close I was to the place, we were bonded! From birthday parties to during the exams party, to end of the exams party to the let’s-go-see-the-cute-men party, Escudo was it! Read more…
