Osaku in Bangkok’s Ibiza
The Universal Player Group, creatively enough brought the said to be rising DJ Masashi Osaku to Ibiza Club, Intercontinental Hotel, Bangkok on July 12th. At first glance at the event, I must admit of having a doubt about his so-called talent but having been there at the event last night, Osaku blew the crowds away with his totally ‘Ibiza’ electro-out tunes.
On the upper level of Intercontinental, what may seems to be a fancy hotel with a rather older crowds, down under are full with crowds ranging from celebrated stars like Natalie to Cindy and a socialite like Vachini K. to the writer slash party animals like myself, to the after Indian wedding crowds still in their outfit and wonders what Osaku and Ibiza is all about.
As we enter the club, we already saw people dancing on the dance floor to Patrick Ribbsaeter and his friends DJing and getting the crowd going before Osaku steps in, when he did, turning around the room, you’d see people moving their bodies to his tunes. One of the tracks I remember going crazy about was the so old school yet still sounds new every time I hear it, “Lady, hear me tonight, cause my feeling is just so right,” yes Modjo, we definitely dance by the moonlight, well let’s just say it’s the red gleaming lights of Ibiza, which is better than good enough for us!
Masashi Osaku is definitely the rising DJ, well at least to me and my crowds, overall the party reminded me of the non-stop dance I had at Culture One party, maybe not as wild since we were all dressed up, but the music was certainly the ‘it’ of the night! For those of you who haven’t seen the Ibiza, well, might as well go check it out, after all, we love new clubs in town especially when the club plays funky house and electro tunes!
