Pooh Bear Taught Me Taoism

I’m sure all of us have had that moment, the moment when you have so much to say about everything that’s going on in your life and you don’t know where to begin let alone putting it together to make the other person understand what you’re going through.

Most of us give up following our dreams and follow the norms of this society whether it’s the whole dress-to-impress regardless of where you are, the time-to-settle even when subconsciously you know that it’s never going to work out, the right-thing-to-do theory of things are right if your community thinks its right, to makes-them-happy practice where you do things to satisfy everyone else really you are not even passionate about that certain thing.

Since when did we start listening to other people, giving in with or without knowing it, give the so called ‘second chance,’ to everything in life but not even once did we give a chance to hear our own inner voice. Don’t give yourself a chance tomorrow because we all know tomorrow is just an excuse to prolong our in denial phase.

I would like to share some of the passages from Winnie the Pooh whose voice maybe boring to me and so does his honey eating habits but despite all of that, he speaks my mind through his own little introduction to Taoism. Hopefully this would at least inspire you to finally listen to what YOU want, follow your dream by taking baby steps, leave the dead-end relationship, and just accept things as they are.

The wise are not learned; the learned are not wise.

The hardest part is what to leave behind, … It’s time to let go!

Everything has its own place and function. That applies to people, although many don’t seem to realize it, stuck as they are in the wrong job, the wrong marriage, or the wrong house. When you know and respect your Inner Nature, you know where you belong. You also know where you don’t belong.

The first thing we need to do is recognize and trust our own Inner Nature and not lose sight of it.

You’d be surprised how many people violate this simple principle every day of their lives and try to fit square pegs into round holes, ignoring the clear reality that Things Are As They Are.

… but, no matter how he may seem to others, especially to those fooled by appearances, Pooh, the Uncarved Block, is able to accomplish what he does because he is simpleminded.

It is more fun to talk with someone who doesn’t use long, difficult words but rather short, easy words like “What about lunch?
You can’t stay in your corner of the Forest waiting for others to come to you. You have to go to them sometimes.

Those who are clever, who have a Brain, never understand anything.

I may not be the smart one in this marriage, but at least I wouldn’t put a baby through so much pain just so I could hold it for five minutes!

To know the Way,

We go the Way;

We do the Way

The way we do

The things we do.

It’s all there in front of you,

But if you try too hard to see it,

You’ll only become Confused.

I am me,

And you are you,

As you can see;

But when you do

The things that you can do,

You will find the Way,

And the Way will follow you.
