Twisted Tuesday: See The Light

Waking up from an afternoon nap in the middle of the jungle by a clear blue sea was as good as it can get for me in Ninh Van Bay, in fact, it’s as good as it can get for anyone who was there at that breathtaking resort of Six Senses.

Located in the middle in the middle of no where, Six Senses Ninh Van Bay offered us more than what we expected. Sure when you see that infinity pool on the rock, you’re thinking at the back of your mind, ‘That simply rocks!’ But actually being there, to experience it is a totally different high.

I can honestly say, I did spend most of my time in this pool, the sun shining at the right temperature, it was hot but the pool was just so nice, not too cold, I mean god, I wish I have a perfect word to explain that feeling of looking out at the endless sea! You know what they say; you learn more about yourself when you’re alone and that sort of thing.

I hate to be the one to break it to you (and to myself) but it is true, you do learn more about yourself when you’re alone. I spend days and nights in the city, most of it at work that I could hardly say I am alone because I am never alone let alone, having time to actually reflect on my life and what I want.

To sleep in that villa all by myself with nothing but the sound of the ocean, nothing but a half on half off internet connection, nothing but that gecko outside on the tree was quite a mind-opening experience. No partying, no late nights, just me, myself, and two most good influence Chinese girls.

I realized that I’ve grown so much from where I was before, I actually even have a picture of my life all painted out, I see, that’s what it is, I actually see who I belong with as a life partner, what I will be doing for myself and my career, a long that line, I also realized that after all this time, I am not so bad with kids in fact, they are totally in love with me even though I can be quite weird.

I know the stuff I learned about myself are far out and beyond what you expected, people expect you to learn about something grand and wow when you’re out in the jungle surrounded by sea, sand, and sun but really, it’s the small things that would surprise you, especially when that small things you learn is about yourself. Life is way too short, do whatever you have to do, follow your inner calling, and trust me, give yourself a break, a mini one, a long one, most important of all, a quiet one, you wouldn’t want to forget to hear your own voice and what your inner self is saying.

Six Senses, you totally elevated me, I feel like I have the sixth sense!

P.S. No music is needed for this version of Twisted Tuesday, the only sound you’ll ever need is the sound of your soul.
