And finally Lifestyle BK officially landed in Bangkok for the public’s eye to see, feel, and be with last night at BED Supperclub. The theme ‘Superstar,’ was definitely the right theme because people were really dressed to kill, and I am sure they had fun playing around with the kinky colorful feathers, along with the crowns, and the blings. I have never seen Bangkok’s party started this early, especially when we are the one hosting, so of course, it goes as we planned. By 8pm, people were flowing in registering, whether they are VIPs or the Press, received our package of gifts, and all of them had a chance to take part in our highlighted photo competition! The Universal Player Group, creatively enough brought the said to be rising DJ Masashi Osaku to Ibiza Club, Intercontinental Hotel, Bangkok on July 12th. At first glance at the event, I must admit of having a doubt about his so-called talent but having been there at the event last night, Osaku blew the crowds away with his totally ‘Ibiza’ electro-out tunes.

On the upper level of Intercontinental, what may seems to be a fancy hotel with a rather older crowds, down under are full with crowds ranging from celebrated stars like Natalie to Cindy and a socialite like Vachini K. to the writer slash party animals like myself, to the after Indian wedding crowds still in their outfit and wonders what Osaku and Ibiza is all about. Thursday night in Bangkok was never this lively, thanks to David Dunne who brought Hed Kandi back to Bangkok with lots of love and groovy tunes. I’m talking about the Hed Kandi signature chicks on the poster all decorated in front of Q Bar, Sukhumvit 11, luring you in.

After dosing myself with David Dunne radio sessions for 12 hours straight at work, I was so on and ready by 10 p.m. right in Q bar getting my favorite Amereto Sour, chilling with my friends outside, it was pretty quiet when I got there, “Great, room to breathe,” I thought, but as I finish my second drinks, people kept pouring in, not as much crowded as Andy Norman’s appearance under the roof of Q in March, but it was definitely happening!

We all tipsy and ready by Midnight, following the sound of David Dunne shouting from the ground floor, “Q Bar, come on down now, are you ready?” And hell yeah, we were! Dancing from the first track, some of us showing our so-retro moves still in our work clothes, but we couldn’t careless. I remember wanting to go to the bathroom really bad but thinking to myself, I might miss a really good track while I’m in there, and guess what! I did.

As silly as it sounds, I actually did stormed out of the bathroom grabbing my very sober girlfriend of mine saying, “I love this song,” and started singing, “So baby if you want me, you’ve got show me love. Words aren’t so easyy to sayy, you’ve got to show me lovvve,” as we were dancing out of the bathroom and we found ourselves in the middle of the dancefloor, throwing our hands up with random yet oh-so-friendly strnagers, together we were shouting to the Robin S’ track, I must say, that song and the song after that, and the song after that, and the song after that made my night, the night of the Thursday nights, well at least so far!

After twenty something years of living in Bangkok, I finally lost my Songkran virginity at Khaosan Rd. yesterday. I was known as the Mistress of Avoiding Wetness during the Thai New Year’s festival, hell I was a pro! Let it rain! Until I met my friends who are apparently the professional of surviving wetness! My survival kit includes a bunch of zip lock bags, a towel waiting in the car, spare clothes, black is the dress code, make up is banned, flip flops are your best friend was my starter kit.

Leave your car at home and “Let’s ride the tuk-tuk,” was the way to the water war zone. Picture a whole road blocked with a bunch of soaked wet like they’ve been in a washing machine! Ok, I’m not being dramatic, that is the scene. Besides, the whole wetness and an hour of long walk, and people jam, I found myself dancing in front of Seven Eleven somewhere a long the road and lost half of my toe nail, somehow, somewhere, my toe nail is there!

Later in the evening, I found myself dancing non-stop to the Thai old school tracks, loving it when people just keep throwing that cold water on me! All in all, thumbs up to my first wet and wild Songkran!

Last night, we had Mr. Sean Kingston and his so very addictive track to the point that could be annoying to some, “You’re way too beautiful girl,” rockin’ the big mama of Ekamai Rd., Santika. The Beautiful Girls Party was of course packed with beautiful girls and guys as well!

As we enter Santika, we see the foam section with volley ball net all ready for the crowd to take a break from the heat of the hip-hop music by getting foamed, wet, wild, or even all of them at once. Read more…
