After twenty something years of living in Bangkok, I finally lost my Songkran virginity at Khaosan Rd. yesterday. I was known as the Mistress of Avoiding Wetness during the Thai New Year’s festival, hell I was a pro! Let it rain! Until I met my friends who are apparently the professional of surviving wetness! My survival kit includes a bunch of zip lock bags, a towel waiting in the car, spare clothes, black is the dress code, make up is banned, flip flops are your best friend was my starter kit.

Leave your car at home and “Let’s ride the tuk-tuk,” was the way to the water war zone. Picture a whole road blocked with a bunch of soaked wet like they’ve been in a washing machine! Ok, I’m not being dramatic, that is the scene. Later in the evening, I found myself dancing non-stop to the Thai old school tracks, loving it when people just keep throwing that cold water on me! All in all, thumbs up to my first wet and wild Songkran!

Last night, we had Mr. Sean Kingston and his so very addictive track to the point that could be annoying to some, “You’re way too beautiful girl,” rockin’ the big mama of Ekamai Rd., Santika. The Beautiful Girls Party was of course packed with beautiful girls and guys as well!

As we enter Santika, we see the foam section with volley ball net all ready for the crowd to take a break from the heat of the hip-hop music by getting foamed, wet, wild, or even all of them at once. Read more…
